Lyrics:
Love of mine some day you will die But I'll be close behind I'll follow you into the dark
No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white Just our hands clasped so tight Waiting for the hint of a spark
If heaven and hell decide That they both are satisfied Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs If there's no one beside you When your soul embarks Then I'll follow you into the dark
In Catholic school as vicious as Roman rule I got my knuckles brusied by a lady in black And I held my tongue as she told me "Son fear is the heart of love" So I never went back
If heaven and hell decide That they both are satisfied Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs If there's no one beside you When your soul embarks Then I'll follow you into the dark
You and me have seen everything to see From Bangkok to Calgary And the soles of your shoes are all worn down The time for sleep is now It's nothing to cry about Cause we'll hold each other soon In the blackest of rooms
If heaven and hell decide That they both are satisfied Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs If there's no one beside you When your soul embarks Then I'll follow you into the dark Then I'll follow you into the dark

| All righty, so this is how we roll around here...
1) This site will serve as a clearinghouse of lyrical discussion and info about photos. I hope to update it at least once a week.
2) I have a Myspace! Now before you go plaquarding your "the end is nigh" signs on my lawn, please know I signed up for the only reason Myspace should exist: the music. When I post about music, I'll like you to my Myspace where you can listen (quite legally) to the song.
3) Listen to the song, read the lyrics (posted here) and discuss. Some ground rules... a) I'm fine with "it's really good", but if you don't mind I'd love to know why (same goes for "it's really bad") b) Please try to wrap your head around what the artist is saying... and no knee jerks if it doesn't jive with your philosophy/ theology (you have my promise that I won't post something that'll mess with your morality... too bad O=) ) c) If someone says something that you agree/disagree/hate/love, SAY SOMETHING BACK! I'd love to discuss with you guys, but I'm still working on when to share what I think. I may take the Shaun Groves approach and open the floor, I dunno.
4) I'm thinking of opening this up to post comments on the photos... I also am toying with registering for a free message board =-o. I know, I'm a dork. Also, what would you think about password protecting the pics? Seriously, if you feel your privacy has been rudely violated, please let me know.
All right, I think that's it... it's almost 2:30AM and I think I might be sleepy now... maybe not. Oh well. Subscribe, have fun, and stick around awhile!

| so begins the mystery...
I need songs... do you have a song? Teach me your songs, and I'll sing with you...
"Before the mountains were created, and you created the earth and the universe, for all eternity you, you are God." - psalm 90:2
Why do the songs of Johnny Cash & Simon & Garfunkel inspire me to think? Their words are important, sure, but their lives after all give life to the words that weren't there until now. It's not exactly the words, but the voice. Their voices speaking through the pains and triumphs of so many years. They paint their words on the canvas of my heart. It's really difficult to understand myself, much less give you a good explanation. Something changes them that I can't quite pin down.
I hope that their words and their voices return my heart to awe the Lord and the live that he's given us all. Until later my friends, and goodbye.
